Extracts of the Resolution of Balochistan National Party (BNP)

A meeting of the central committee of Balochistan National Party (BNP) was held on the 23 rd. Sep. 2001 in Quetta. The meeting discussed the present terrorist incident in the USA, and also looked into the root causes and the consequences there after of such incidents. The meeting also vehemently condemned the 11 Sep. 2001 tragedy.

The meeting stressed that unless this incident is looked in the light of its severity in regards to its causes and a remedy is sought, such incidents are bound to take place even in future.

The meeting was of the opinion that the Western powers for their own interests imposed upon the underdeveloped countries Fundamentalism, Authoritarian rule and antidemocratic regimes and in most places people’s national rights were let to be stampeded under the heavy boots of the Army. Thus creating a congenial atmosphere for such catastrophes.

It is therefore the duty of the intellectuals of the civilized society to make their leaders understand and desist from imposing systems and regimes on others, which is distasteful to them.

That is the only way where they can turn the globe into a peaceful place to live and let live both in peace and harmony.

Let there be no two opinions that desperation and frustration had always provided a fertile ground for breeding terrorism. The developed world should resist from sowing the seeds of terrorism so that rachids of the earth are not pushed with their backs to the wall for such desperate steps.

Let’s now look a bit deeper into this particular incident.
While investigating any crime, two things are always taken into consideration.

1. What was the motive behind the crime?
2. Who benefits from that crime?

Keeping in view these two points it is not difficult to come to a conclusion, in regard to the beneficiary.
If we accept the American allegations in regard to the Taliban and Osama bin laden them point No.1 stands to be answered. If you look for the point No.2 then one and the only beneficiary in this whole scenario appears to be no one but Pakistan.

The government of Pakistan was itching to become a blue-eyed boy of the United States as he was at the time of the Soviet Unions.

Today there is no denying the fact that USA is again in dire need of Pakistan’s Army as it was when the Soviet army marched in Afghanistan.

There fore Pakistan lost not a moment in presenting the list of its requirements which include rescheduling of debts and easy flow of dollars in the shape of cash and kind. She also expects USA to give a pat on her back for bulldozing the democratic Institutions, usurp human rights and stampeding the rights of the nationalities. For USA to concede to these demands is but a part of American history. There is no reason for it not to repeat it again.

There is a possibility that some of the important personalities in the government of Pakistan may not have been taken into confidence but if the American version is to be accepted that the Taliban and Al-Quida are responsible for this incident then it is impossible to isolate the activities of Taliban and their supporters from the ISI (Inter services Intelligence) as the main master mind behind this conspiracy.

Keeping in view their joint activities in hijacking of the Indian plane when it was selected to land and negotiate from Khandahar airport for the release of Pakistani fundamentalists from Indian detention.
The world will be fooling itself if ISI’s involvement in this particular incident is not taken into account. ISI who’s the sole representative of the Punjabi ruling elite, and is the actual ruler of Pakistan today, could under no circumstances be absolved from this incident, one can easily visualize the signs of rejuvenation in the ISI’s quarters. With all the condemnations on our part one has to accept the ISI’s mastermind of dirty tricks and playing its cards so well in befooling the world and sacrificing its outdated allies.

This meeting expressed its concern on the consequences arising out of this tragedy, which are bound to results in the destruction of Afghanistan and turn Balochistan into a battlefield.

Therefore this meeting condemns the conspiracy hatched by the ISI and stresses up on the government of USA that she is at liberty to choose between her foes and friends but spare us the punishment in return for pleasing Punjab. By Spokesman BNP
